North Stradbroke is one of those fabulous places where to get to your destination you have no choice but to venture over water.

Travelling to the island is easy and if you don’t own your own boat you can always use the ferries.

To arrive at Straddie you will have to depart from Cleveland’s ferry terminals located at the end of Emmett Drive, Toondah Harbour, Cleveland.

There are two car & passenger ferries available: the Big Red Cat (                                               ) and Stradbroke Ferries (                                                               ). Stradbroke Ferries also has a water taxi available for those who’d prefer not to use a vehicle on the island.

Both ferry company’s prices start at $135 for a return trip but please view their individual websites for more accurate pricing and timetables.

Please keep in mind that it takes approximately 45 minutes to get across to the island by ferry and a further 30 minutes to get from Dunwich to Point Lookout.

When you first arrive at North Stradbroke the ferry will drop you off at the Dunwich ferry terminal at the end of Junner St (see A in the map to the left). From Junner St turn left into Ballow Rd. Follow Ballow Rd as it turns into Bingle Rd and eventually East Coast Rd. This is the road that will take you to Point Lookout.
